Hi friends!
Have you started being more conscious of your Shepherd the last couple days? Are you leaning on him more than last week – looking to him for direction, provision, comfort, healing, and protection? Have you set down the bag of marshmallows, and started listening for what God is leading you toward?
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
What does it mean to consider the LORD as my Shepherd?
- We can say “I lack nothing” and mean it.
- He knows us individually and leads us to the things we need physical, mentally and spiritually.
- He makes it possible for us to “lie down.”
- He can restore our soul, letting us catch our breath and sends us off in the right direction.
- We can trust where he is leading us.
- We don’t have to have fear in the dark times – at all.
- He can heal us from ailments and conflict.
- His beauty and love chase after us every day of our life.
- At the end of our journey together, we get to be in heaven with him for eternity.
John 10: 10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
It is possible to have a life where we are no longer a slave to fear; a life where we don’t have to spend relentless effort trying to control circumstances to make it on our own. We have a God who loves us, knows us, and can take care of our every need. Let’s relax a bit, hand over the reins to God, and lean into him. Then we can spend our days anticipating the remainder of our journey – well cared for and overflowing with abundant life.
May closeness to Jesus, willing dependence on Him, and LIFE BEYOND COMPARE be with you all!!!
Love,
-Becky Watson
