    financial update

Creekside Covenant Church – Financial Update

We are over five (5) months into the fiscal year that runs from September 2021 through August 2022. Remembering back to our last annual congregational meeting in September 2021, our congregation approved a budget that we estimated (at the time) would require us to dip into our reserves to the tune of $87,872 in order for us to make the staffing structure changes to fund the mission and ministry we believe God is leading us into.

    Fiscal YTD 2021-2022 Annual Budget

    Giving

    $386,500

    Expenses

    $474,372

    Net Income

    ($87,872)

Back in August, we believed that this was a prudent step, God willing,  given our desire to invest in the future.  Fortunately, that decision is bearing fruit thanks to the generosity of the congregation. As of February 9, we are Giving 19% more than budgeted, and Expenses are 9% less than planned. So we have been blessed with actual Year-To-Date income of $16,665, rather than a budgeted loss of ($34,758).   When compared to plan, this is a positive difference of $51,423.   This also means that we have not had to dip into any reserves yet.

At the same time, our balance sheet is healthy.  We continue to pay down our mortgage and have reduced the loan principal balance this fiscal year by $15,208 from $684,611 to $669,403.

We are incredibly grateful to God for the ongoing and (in many cases) increased generosity of Creeksider’s this year! This has not only been encouraging for this year, but also as we continue to look ahead and step further into our 3-year plan for needed annual increases to our budget and giving to fund the mission and ministry we believe God has called us to.  Thank you!!

If you have any questions about any of the above information, please contact Stew Konzen, Leadership Team Financial Officer.

    Worshipping Inside

We wanted to let you know that we have improved the safety and air quality of our worship services.  We have upgraded the air filters in our furnace system and installed two air purifiers that will be running in the sanctuary all morning.

We also are intentionally planning for most (if not all) of our congregational singing to happen near the end of our worship service.  And we continue to have the overflow options for people to be onsite but participate in our worship room from the Commons, the Cozy Room, and Room 107.

    Creekside Re-Opening Plan

If you haven’t read it, please make sure to read
    Creekside’s Guiding Principles for Reopening.

The Leadership Team has been actively reassessing and developing our plans as we continue to transition back to in-person services.

As per the latest guidelines, we are asking that EVERYONE wear masks while indoors at Creekside (regardless of your vaccination status).
